Supernatural Inspector Morse-like tale The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is scheduled to be released on Xbox One and Xbox One X in two weeks time.
Launching on Friday, January 19, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person narrative-driven exploration game where you play as detective Paul Prospero investigating, yes, the vanishing of young boy named Ethan Carter. It first came to PC in September 2014, before being ported to PlayStation 4 a year later.
I remember being wowed by how beautiful it was when I first played it on PC. It’s a stunning game, but for some reason a bit of cracked paint on a bridge’s railing astounded me. I spent about 10 solid minutes just walking back and forth from that railing. Simpler times. I can only imagine that cracked paint will look mesmerising on Xbox One X in 4K.
You can pre-order the game now via the Xbox Store if you so wish. It’ll set you back £15.99 in the UK, while Americans will be asked to fork over $19.99 of their hard money if they want to figure out where EC is.
